MINISTER DONGRIN TAKES OVER HIS NEW ASSIGNMENT AT THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE AND PLANNING

The staff of the Ministry of Finance and Planning organized a reception ceremony to welcome the newly appointed Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater to assume his duties.

The event was attended by the former Minister of Finance, Hon. Eng. Awow Daniel Chuang and heads of parastatals including the Governor of the Bank of South Sudan, Hon. Dr. James Alic Garang, Commissioner General of South Sudan Revenue Authority, Hon. Africano Mande, Executive Director of Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Authority, Hon. Deng Akuei Kak Undersecretaries, DGs, Directors and staff of the Ministry of Finance Planning.

In his statement at the event, the Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater expressed his honor for the opportunity accorded to him by the President to serve under his leadership.

Minister Dongrin thanked and acknowledged the efforts of the former Minister, Hon. Awow Daniel Chuang and the entire staff of the Ministry of Finance and Planning for their great work to serve the nation in time when the country is under immense economic pressure.

The Minister of Finance acknowledged the directives of the President given to him during his swearing in ceremony to pay the salaries of public servants, increase non-oil revenue mobilization and consolidate government bank accounts. Minister Dongrin said his office will work closely with Central Bank and Revenue Authority starting this week to set a new target for revenues generation, streamline all the government accounts at central bank and commercial banks and work together to coordinate fiscal and monetary policies to stabilize the market.

On his part, the outgoing Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Eng. Awow Daniel Chuang congratulated his successor for winning the trust of the President and pledged his candid support to Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin Ater in running the Ministry of Finance and Planning.
