MINISTRY OF FINANCE LAUNCHES A CURRICULUM FOR GATC

In an effort to strengthen the capacity of Government Accountancy Training Centre in the country, the Ministry of Finance and Planning launched the reviewed and updated curriculum for the Centre in a ceremony presided over by Honorable Minister, Dier Tong Ngor.

GATC is a directorate under the ministry of Finance that works closely with the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development as well as other line ministries and concerned stakeholders dealing with training, capacity building and exchange program for accountants and budget officers.

In his address during the vent, Minister Dier said the document contains methodologies required to strengthen civil service institutions by providing standard knowledge and skills in conducting accounting and budgetary work.

The minister also thanked UNDP and other development partners for supporting the review, update and printing of the curriculum.

The launching ceremony was attended by Minister of Federal Affairs, Hon. Lasuba Wongo, Minister Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Hon. Aya Warrile, Undersecretary of Public Service, Julia Aker and representatives of the IMF and Africa Development Bank.
