The National Ministry of Finance and Planning has launched its official website (www.mofp.gov.ss) under the theme; “Availing economic information for transparency, accountability and public consumption”.
The website which holds the official government domain is expected to push the country closer towards achieving e-governance and digitize the daily conduct of service delivery and public transactions.
The Ministry also launched the Aid Information Management System (AIMS) which is expected to boost the relations between the government, development partners and private sector in management of funds acquired through grants, aid, loans and public funds.
The creation of official website is a requirement by the Public Financial Management and Accountability Act (2011) and request by the international community/ development partners and donors to assess the level transparency in management of public funds and donor money.
The website provides details about the ministry’s daily news activities, structure/ leadership profile, functions/ core values, directorates, as well as relevant economic documents such as the budget, laws, circulars, resolutions, reports, contract tenders and job opportunities.
The launching ceremony presided over by the Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dier Tong Ngor and attended by representatives of National Communication Authority, Access to Information Commission, development partners, private sector, civil society organizations, academia, think tanks and a sizeable number of senior and junior staff of the ministry of Finance and Planning.
