MINISTER DIER ACCOMPANIES THE VISITING WORLD BANK OFFICIAL TO BOR TOWN FOR AN ASSESSMENT TOUR

In an assessment tour of the small and medium business enterprises, local market initiatives and UN funded projects in Bor town, the Minister of Finance and Planning, Hon. Dier Tong Ngor alongside his counterparts of Agriculture and Food Security as well as Livestock and Fisheries ministers accompanied the visiting World Bank Vice President for Eastern and Southern Africa, Victoria Kwakwa to Bor town of Jonglei state.

Addressing a press conference at Juba International Airport, the delegation described the visit to Bor as a successful mission and an opportunity to show the world that South Sudan is not just a consuming state but also a producer and exporter of a plentiful livelihood within the country and to the region.

The government officials urged the visiting World Bank official to convince her institution to provide more financial assistance to South Sudan to support different projects in the country.

The event was also attended by representatives of United Nations Mission in South Sudan, World Food Program, Food and Agriculture Organization and UN Office for Projects Services.
